The mission of Western Springs Baptist Church is

Our Values
GENUINE WORSHIP
Worship that is never about us but about God.
Worship is our response to God’s revelation of Himself. He has revealed Himself through His creation, through His Word and through Himself—as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We respond to His revelation with gratitude and awe.
“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of Godʼs mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.”
Romans 12:1
Throughout the week we worship God by offering ourselves to God. On Sundays our combined offering creates something brand new—something far beyond what any one of us could do individually—and together, we offer that to God in corporate worship.

INCARNATIONAL EVANGELISM
Living as Jesus in our world.
We desire to live as Jesus in our world. We are on a missional journey, intentionally following God’s lead in reaching the people He has placed all around us. We follow the promptings of the Spirit; searching for where God is active in our communities and throughout the world. We join Him as He seeks out the lost, the harassed, the abandoned, and the complacent.
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20

COSTLY DISCIPLESHIP
Sacrificing everything to follow Christ.
Costly discipleship is sacrificing everything to follow Christ. Our discipleship anchors itself in Scripture and encourages all believers to become mature followers of Christ. We help followers or Christ to live out a pure and sincere faith; equipped and supported for ministry.
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.”

SELFLESS MINISTRY
Giving of ourselves to others in Jesus' name.
We desire to give of ourselves to others in Jesus’ name. Service illustrates biblical truths and meets the needs of the poor and oppressed. We desire to act in humility, involve ourselves in the community, give generously, and display the life-changing power of the Gospel. We have many avenues through which you can engage in selfless ministry. We also encourage our congregation to be continually mindful of the needs of people around them and around the world. “Love your neighbor as yourself”

Diaconate
Our Deacons empower all of us to meet needs within our congregation as well as those of others, including financial assistance, meals, visitation and prayer.
Selfless Service
We encourage our congregation to serve. Our church doesn’t exist for itself. We exist for the sake of the world God loves. When we serve our neighbors, whether across the street or across the globe, we reflect the heart of Jesus who came not to be served but to serve. Our acts of compassion and generosity, and our servant leadership and relationships become our living testimonies of the Gospel by showing people who Jesus really is in significant ways. A church that serves is a church that shines, reminding the world that God has not forgotten them.
