We are requesting that everyone wear a mask when attending the worship service and church activities on Sundays continuing for the month of October. While we do not like making this decision, we feel that we are compelled to do so out of loving kindness and care for one another during this recent surge of COVID and the Delta Variant and our testimony within the Western Springs community. The COVID Taskforce will meet again to reevaluate our situation towards the end of October. Please wear your mask on Sundays at WSBC.
As you will remember, COVID mitigations allow for pastors, worship leaders and singers on the platform (including the choir) to remove their mask while actively leading within our worship service only to replace their face covering when their participation has concluded. We will also be creating extra seating and space in the Community Room for anyone who may prefer to sit with more defined distance while we worship together each Sunday in October.
We believe the most important issue at hand for us as a church is to be unified in our love for God through Jesus Christ and lovingkindness for one another, and we are confident that our love will not be restrained or restricted by our masks and that our church will be faithful followers of Jesus Christ.
