We are a church centered on Jesus Christ. We exist to love and glorify God as we bless our community and the world with the Gospel empowered by the Holy Spirit.
Worship is our response to God’s revelation of Himself.
We desire to live as Jesus in our world.
Costly discipleship is sacrificing everything to follow Christ.
We desire to give of ourselves to others in Jesus’ name.
We desire to open ourselves to others because of Jesus Christ.
“To Discover Christ and Display His Transforming Power.”

At the heart of his ministry, Joel knows God has called him to faithfully model and teach people of all ages to know and grow in the Gospel of Jesus Christ in order to become fully devoted mature followers of Jesus. He is excited to see how Christ will grow our love for each other as His Church and for this community in order to reach the Families of Western Springs and surrounding area with the Gospel. Prior to Joel joining our staff and church family as the Pastor of Family Ministries, he serve at Community Fellowship in West Chicago and Pleasant Hill Community Church in Wheaton. Joel is a graduate of Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield IL.
"My hope and prayer is that God will use me to stimulate and encourage WSBC / the Village Church to engage our community with the Gospel in relevant ways and grow fully devoted mature followers of Jesus Christ.”
Here are a few things that Joel loves … "My Wife, Rhonda, and Kids, Josie, Benji & Drew, Michigan football, Cubs baseball, Sunday afternoon naps, coaching my boys’ baseball teams, planning adventures and traveling with my family, my Dogs (lab-mixes, Sophie & Mac), sharing a great meal with family and friends, family huddles & hugs, making my award winning chili and sausage gravy, grilling, and creating something out of nothing in the Fridge."
Timothy and his wife Abigail came to WSBC in January of 2019. They met in Chicago where they both received degrees in Biblical Studies from Moody Bible Institute. Abigail is currently a student at Rush University, earning a Masters of Nursing. They both love eating tacos, drinking lattes, and reading, and they're grateful to be a part of the worship and community here at WSBC.
